Hana Clitherow - Imerys Trail Half

GUEST POST: Hana Clitherow – Imerys Trail Half Marathon 2015

Regular contributor Hana Clitherow has posted the latest update in her year-long project to run thirteen half marathons in 2015. This week she talks about her eighth so far, the Imerys Trail Half Marathon… This will be Half Marathon No 8 for me this year and I am approaching it with a sense of fear. Not because of the distance or terrain but because after running the Trevornick 10 the previous weekend I had a Read more…

Cubert 5 – Dan Rodgers wins in blustery conditions

Dan Rodgers (Launceston RR) underlined his short course form by winning the well subscribed five miler at Cubert on Tuesday, with a personal best time of 25:20, almost dipping under 5:00/mile pace. Having just won the County 5K track title, he opened a small gap over the tight bunch competing for second. Dan Alsop (St Austell RC), Mike Birchmore (Newquay RR) and Colin Snook (Cornwall AC) were left to fight it out for second, with Snook eventually missing Read more…

St Ives Bay 10k – Hat-trick for Ben Price

There was a healthy turnout for the tough St Ives Bay 10K in great conditions last night. Former county cricketer and now Cheltenham based athlete Ben Price took the honours for the third time in a row in a cracking time of 35:40, considering the terrain. Julian Mann of Winchester AC was a few minutes behind, just ahead of Hayle Runner Lewis Hill, who was the first local home. First lady home was Hayle’s own Emma Read more…

Mud Crew Ladies Dominate at Imerys

Round six of the Cornwall Multi-terrain Race Series brought almost 300 runners to St Austell for the tough Imerys Trail Half Marathon. Over a hundred more decided that ‘only’ 13 miles in the lunar landscape of the China Clay pits wasn’t nearly enough, and doubled the distance to the full trail marathon. Both courses are tough in any conditions, and some runners understandably took the option of switching from marathon to half mid-race. The trail Read more…

Scott Abraham - Tervornick 10

Scott Abraham 100 Not Out!

There was plenty going on for county runners this weekend, starting with the Ivybridge 10K on Saturday. A lot of Cornwall runners decided to make a ‘double’ weekend of it, with this scenic 10K as the ‘appetiser’, and the 10 mile GP race at Trevornick the following day as the ‘main course’. There was a massive turnout in Ivybridge, with almost 700 finishing the race. Dorset athlete and Kielder Marathon winner Ceri Rees won the Read more…

GUEST POST: Hana Clitherow – Sarsen Trail and Neolithic Half Marathon 2015

Regular contributor Hana Clitherow has sent us the latest update in her year-long project to run thirteen half marathons in 2015. This week she reports from Salisbury Plain, where she took part in the Sarsen Trail and Neolithic Half Marathon… Two years ago I had a moment of madness and decided that if I ever ran a marathon I wanted to run one where I could cross the finishing line, collapse and possible die somewhere iconic. GUEST POST: Hana Clitherow – Budapest Spring Half Marathon

Regular contributor Hana Clitherow has sent us the latest update in her year-long project to run thirteen half marathons in 2015. This time she reports from the capital of Hungary, where she took part in the Budapest Spring Half Marathon. Looks like a beautiful place to run a fast half! I only started running back in 2010 and since that time I seemed to have completed most of the Cornish GP races several times over, Read more…

Emma Schuck Shines in Plymouth

It was a fantastic weekend for running across the county and further afield, as local runners took part in races as far apart as Boston and Bodmin. With only a week to go before the London Marathon, it was a tricky decision for Multi-Terrain Series runners whether to risk their ankles on the off-road Five Tors, or tackle something flatter (and shorter). As it turned out, almost 200 tackled the moorland run, with Dan Rodgers Read more…
